Sixth Avenue is one of the most vibrant business districts in Tacoma with its eclectic mix of businesses and its focus on art and sustainability.  We will be holding the 10th annual Art on the Ave event July 13, 2008 on 6th Avenue.  This high-energy neighborhood festival features contemporary art in many forms performance, dance and stage, painting, photography, sculpture, glass, imaginative, and music - to showcase local artists and talent.  We will also show off some of the components that make up a sustainable community such as transportation, recycling and public safety.  We invite you to be a sponsor or participant in this lively event.

As the festival has grown, the Sixth Avenue Business Association alone cannot fully finance this event.  Thats why we are asking you to help sponsor this festival.  Art on the Ave is truly a collaborative effort of sponsors and volunteers who make this festival successful. We are accepting donated items or financial contributions.  Suggested sponsorship levels are from $250 to $5,000 (see application).  Your contribution will be recognized on our Web site and on the day of the event.  Larger sponsors will be recognized in most printed materials if we receive your response by May 16, 2008.

This year we will have art vendors, live music, performance art, food booths and art and green cars.  To celebrate our 10th year, we will be printing and selling T-shirts with the winning poster art created by the Grant Elementary School students.  Each year our attendance has increased.  Last year over 10,000 people attend the festival and we anticipate attracting over 15,000 visitors this year.  Sixth Avenue is centrally located, available to public transit, and a great place to bring people.  Best of all its free!  Booth participants and local businesses will be selling and giving away lots of materials and gifts with their sponsorships.

You can download an application at www.artontheave.org/sponsor/; email info@artontheave.org; or call Rose Peterson (253-988-1154) or Carla Hall (253-651-2414).  We look forward to having you a part of this years Art on the Ave.
